Hammer Properties main objective is to act as a middle man between client and the governing bodies in the UK to make sure that all business rate appeals gain the optimum result possible. We will represent you in all business rate related matters during the entire rating block.

Hammer Properties endeavour to appeal against the current rating system and the subsequent assessments in the current Rating List. This will initially start with the informal discussion between our surveyors and the Valuation Office Agency (Inland Revenue & Customs) in trying to settle a reduction in the rateable value within the shortest time possible.

Three months after the submission of an appeal, it can be listed for hearing at a local Valuation Tribunal. At this point we undertake the challenge of fighting the Inland Revenue to ensure that every business in the UK is paying not only a correct but a fair rate on an annual basis. Following the settlement of an appeal, we pursue a claim from the local authority of the physical overpayments in the form of a refund. It should be noted that this is accompanied by interest in accordance with prescribed rules and regulations and can be backdated to the commencement of the current block or the date of occupation if after.
